JINAN, China, August 7,2026 — Officials, scholars, business representatives and youth leaders from across Africa and China gathered this week in the eastern Chinese city of Jinan for the opening of the 2026 China-Africa Friendship Tour – Shandong Meets Africa Cultural Gala, underscoring a shared commitment to expanding people-to-people exchanges alongside economic and diplomatic cooperation.
Held from August 4 to 7 in Shandong Province, the cultural gala served as one of the flagship events of the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, an initiative designed to strengthen mutual understanding through education, culture, tourism, youth engagement and business collaboration.
