Windhoek, April 9 — Young Namibian students showcased their Chinese language skills in a competition held in Windhoek this week. The event featured poetry, speeches, and cultural performances, highlighting the increasing interest in Chinese language learning in Namibia.

The competition combined the 25th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for foreign college students and the 19th edition for foreign secondary school students, bringing together participants from across the country, including several schools taking part for the first time.

Participants impressed audiences with a range of performances, from carefully delivered Mandarin speeches to expressive poetry recitations and cultural displays. Beyond language proficiency, the students demonstrated a growing appreciation of Chinese traditions, reflecting a deeper level of cultural engagement.

The inclusion of first-time participants from multiple schools signaled an expanding reach of Chinese language programs within Namibia’s education system. As more institutions adopt such programs, opportunities for students to engage in international platforms continue to grow.
